ROCKETS BLASTING OFF

Chris Bosh got an up close and personal look at what could have been.  The team he spurned in the offseason, the Houston Rockets, crushed his Miami Heat 108-91 Tuesday night a battle of unbeatens. James Harden and company are on a serious roll to begin the 2014-15 campaign. The Rockets are off to a 5-0 start and are only the 2nd team in NBA history to win their first five games by 10 or more points. Harden has been performing at an MVP level to begin the season. He finished a rebound short of a triple double against the Heat with  25 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds.
On the season Harden is averaging 27.2 points, 7.4 assists and 6.8 rebounds. Those are Lebron James type numbers. The Beard is also keeping his word and playing defense this year. Harden is averaging 1.4 steals and 1 block per game. His overall Fanhoops player efficiency ranking is 5th in the NBA at 52.15.

Trevor Ariza is also off to a great start, shooting a blistering 60% from three point range and 58% overall, while averaging more than 17 points per game. He lit up the Heat for 19 second half points Tuesday. Of course the shooting percentage won't hold, but it's a great start for Ariza who has calmed most of the fears over the departed Chandler Parsons.  The Rockets defense has been outstanding as well. They are currently in the top 10 defensively, and became the first team to hold the Heat under 100 points this season.  Miami is the first good team that the Rockets have faced so far, and they passed the test on the 2nd half of a back to back no less. Next up for RedNation is a battle with the World Champion San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night at Toyota Center. The Rockets swept the Spurs during the regular season last year 4-0.
